We depart San Francisco International for Tel Aviv, Israel.
Wednesday, November 6 Netanya
On arrival on Turkish Air #864, we are met and assisted by our guide. Our coach is waiting to transfer us to our hotel in Netanya and a good night’s rest.

Thursday, November 7 Caesarea Maritime Mount Carmel / Tel Megiddo / Magdala After a full Israeli breakfast, we travel along the Mediterranean coast to the ruins of Caesarea where Paul was imprisoned before being sent to Rome. Toward Haifa, we see the magnificent panoramic view from Mount Carmel, the location of Elijah's altar where he slew the prophets of Baal. We’ll tour the excavation of Tel Megiddo overlooking the Valley of Armageddon. The ruins of Megiddo are 30 civilizations deep going all the way back to the Canaanites. Continuing to the Sea of Galilee, we visit the ruins of Magdala on the western shore. It is the home town of Mary Magdalene. DINNER, OVERNIGHT AND BREAKFAST, LAKE HOUSE HOTEL, GALILEE
Friday, November 8 Nazareth / Nazareth Village / Boat Ride / Mt of Beatitudes / Primacy of Peter / Capernaum
After breakfast we travel to Jesus’ boyhood home of Nazareth and visit the recreated Nazareth Village. Back to Galilee we board a Galilean boat for a sail on the Sea of Galilee. After a time of worship, we visit the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount followed by a stop along the Galilee shore for a visit the Primacy of Peter where Christ told Peter to “feed my sheep.” We continue to Capernaum, the city of Jesus to see the town so central to Jesus ministry. The ruins of Peter’s house are still seen along with the ruins of the ancient synagogue DINNER, OVERNIGHT AND BREAKFAST LAKE HOUSE HOTEL, GALILEE
Saturday, November 9 Tel Dan / Caesarea Philippi Golan Heights / Bethsaida / Kursi / Yardenit
Early this morning go northward to ancient Tel Dan, where the Dan Tribe emigrated. Visit the unearthed city gates, a paved road, and remains of fortifications. We also see Banias Springs, the source of the Jordan River and visit Caesarea Philippi where Peter confessed Christ as Messiah. Returning to the Sea of Galilee via the Golan Heights, we stop at Bethsaida where Jesus healed the blind man. Bethsaida was the hometown of Peter, Philip and Andrew. Then we drive to Kursi, site of the miracle of the swine and where Jesus fed the 4000. Later in the afternoon we stop at the Jordan River site of Yardenite where you can be baptized if you wish.

Sunday. November 10 Beth She’an / Jordan Valley Bedouin Lunch / Bethlehem
This morning on our way to Jerusalem, we visit the Decapolis city of Beth She’an. The ancient city on the hill is where Saul and his sons were hung after their defeat at Gilboa. It is one of the best preserved of all the Decapolis cities. We drive the Jordan Valley and ascend the Judean Hills near Jericho for a delicious Bedouin lunch in “Abraham’s tent.” Coming into Jerusalem we continue to nearby Bethlehem where we see the shepherd’s fields and visit the site of Jesus’ birth.

Monday, November 11 Dead Sea / Qumran / Ein Gedi Masada / Sound and Light Show at David Citadel (7 pm)
Leave Jerusalem for the Shore of the Dead Sea -the deepest point on earth (1200 feet below Sea level). Drive via the Judean Wilderness to the Dead Sea. Visit Qumran, the ruins of an ancient Essene community where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Then drive to the Nature Reserve Ein Gedi, where King David found shelter from the rage of King Saul. Ascend to Masada by cable car to visit these magnificent ruins. Masada is the fortress where from 70-73 AD the Jewish Zealots made the last stand against the Roman Empire. If time permits, enjoy a short swim in the Dead Sea and return via the Judean Wilderness to Jerusalem. After dinner, transfer to David Citadel to see the story of Jerusalem unfold through giant breathtaking virtual reality images. Return to our hotel.

Tuesday, November 12 Mount of Olives / Garden of Gethsemane / Pool of Bethesda / Via Dolorosa /Western Wall / Southern Excavations Mount Zion / Room of the Last Supper / Kotel tunnel (6:30PM)
We drive to the Mount of Olives for an outstanding view of the city and surrounding area. We visit the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations and travel the Palm Sunday route of Jesus to the Old City. We enter the old city through the Sheep gate near the site of Stephen’s martyrdom. We stop at the Pool of Bethesda just inside the gate and sing in the acoustical marvel of Saint Anne’s church. We continue along the traditional Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Afterwards, we visit the Western Wall and the Southern excavations of the Temple Mount. Walking through the shops of the Jewish quarter to Jaffa Gate and continue to Mt. Zion where we visit the Room of the Last Supper and the traditional tomb of King David.

Wednesday, November 13 City of David / Hezekiah Tunnel / Shrine of the Book / Jerusalem Model / Yad Vashem / Garden Tomb (1:30)
This morning, we visit the recently uncovered, Pool of Siloam and the Hezekiah Tunnel in the City of David. We visit the garden tomb of Jesus followed by an orientation beside Calvary where Jesus was crucified and have a special communion service and singing. Later, we visit the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scroll collection is exhibited and where the amazing model of ancient Jerusalem. Then we visit profoundly moving Yad Vashem, the holocaust memorial.

After breakfast, those who are not going to Jordan and who booked air travel through ICJ are transferred to Ben Gurion airport for departure to the USA.

Thursday, November 14 Jordan / Allenby Bridge Jerash / Madaba / Petra
This morning we leave Jerusalem and continue to the Allenby Bridge near Jericho to cross the Jordan River into the kingdom of Jordan. We arrive in the friendly and fascinating country of Jordan. Our first stop north of Amman is at another of the regions decapolis cities. Jerash is one of the best preserved ancient ruins from Biblical times. Continuing toward Petra we stop at Madaba where we view the most ancient map of the Holy Land which dates from 600AD. We continue to Petra.

Friday, November 15 Petra / Dead Sea (Jordan)
After a delicious Jordanian breakfast, we arrive at the entrance to the Siq which leads us to Petra, one of the ancient wonders of the world. An easy walk of about a mile leads us to the end of the narrow canyon which opens spectacularly to the familiar Treasury carved out of predominately red stone. Further down, the valley opens to even more wonders. For the hardy there is a climb to the traditional burial site of Aaron, Moses’ brother. In the late afternoon proceed to Jordan's shore of the Dead Sea.

Saturday, November 16 Mount Nebo / Baptismal Site Allenby Bridge / Elah Valley / Jaffa / Netanya
On our final day in the Holy Land we begin with another delicious Jordanian breakfast before departing from our hotel. Ascending nearby Mt. Nebo we see the view Moses had of the Promised Land. Going down toward the Allenby Bridge and the Jordan River, we stop nearby to see the site which is believed to be the most likely place where John the Baptist baptized. It is also here on the plains of Moab where Elijah ascended into heaven in a chariot of fire. Crossing back into Israel, we visit Elah Valley where David slew Goliath and Jaffa where Jonah departed for his encounter with the big fish
